Certified copies of Quincy marriage records are $10 in person and $12 by mail or online. These certified copies are accepted for legal purposes including name changes, passport applications, and insurance updates. Genealogy copies, which are not certified for legal use, cost $2 each and are useful for family history research when you do not need an official document.

If you do not know the exact date of a marriage, the office charges a search fee of $10. That fee is refunded if the record is not found. When you make a request, provide the full names of both spouses and the approximate year. More detail means faster results. For mail requests, send your request to the Quincy City Clerk at 1305 Hancock Street, Quincy, MA 02169. Include a check or money order for the applicable fee and your return address. In-person requests can typically be fulfilled the same day.

For marriages from 1931 forward, the Massachusetts RVRS at 150 Mount Vernon Street, Dorchester also holds state copies. In-person copies from RVRS are $20, mail requests are $32, and VitalChek orders are $54. You can order state copies at mass.gov/how-to/order-a-birth-marriage-or-death-certificate.

Note: Always order extra certified copies when you first request them. Many agencies require original certified copies, not photocopies.
